About

Are you working on innovative solutions in domains like education, healthcare, security, renewable energy and recycling, sustainable mobility, ... that could benefit from sensing technology?

During my previous 15 years of employment in applied research and electronics industry, I’ve gathered experience with technical and commercial development of innovative microwave and optical sensor products like 3D vision cameras. Ideally, I’d like to apply my know-how and skills to develop solutions that really matter to me personally. I am especially motivated by applications that aspire a positive and meaningful impact on society or ecology.

I have an Engineering and PhD degree in Electronics, I’m a team player and I enjoy working with people that have different cultural backgrounds. I have a hands-on mentality and I prefer an analytical and pragmatic approach to problem solving. My tools vary from data analysis, signal processing, electronics design, sensor prototyping, system modeling and programming to pliers and screwdriver, spreadsheets and slide presentations. I like to meet and interact with stakeholders to uncover their requirements, analyze and break down issues into solveable pieces, discuss ideas with other domain experts and eventually define, propose and implement tailored solutions.

What I Offer

What I can offer, are for example:

  • Finding out which type of sensor or sensor suite is best suited for your application and cost target (e.g. temperature, pressure, proximity, vision, …)
  • Define what specific sensor configuration is needed (e.g. measurement range, precision, interfaces, …)
  • Develop prototypes and proof of concepts
  • Develop and Program algorithms (Python, Matlab, C/C++...), (web)applications, ...
  • Break down and negotiate with 3rd parties or internal stakeholders what would be the cost and effort for development (if any), installation and maintenance
  • Integrate sensors into new or existing IT infrastructure to enable user-friendly configuration management and informed decision making
  • Sensor deployment and testing in the field, anywhere in the world
  • Data mining
  • Work out a roadmap that takes into account future advances in sensor technology
  • Train and develop training material for other experts or non-experts to maximize knowledge transfer in your organization
  • Writing of reports, application notes, help guides, project proposals
